The cost of conducting a Royal Rangers program in your church depends largely on the type and scope of the program you plan to conduct. The Royal Rangers program provides significant flexibility in the scope and format of the program. Details can be found in Chapter 5 of the Royal Rangers Leader Manual: Program Structure & Leadership. The following therefore represents a summary of the costs typically involved in starting and maintaining a program.
CHARTER FEES
All Royal Rangers groups are required to pay an annual national membership fee (charter fee) in the amount of $11.00 per boy and $13.00 per leader. (Some districts charge additional fees.) All charters are renewed annually in September & October. Details on the chartering process can be found on our chartering page.
STARTUP RESOURCES
A list of recommended resources can be found on our startup resources page. If your church were to operate all four age groups (grades K-12), using the minimum “basic essentials” listed on the startup resources page, your initial cost would be about $160 (including all 4 curriculum tracks) and about $120 each year thereafter to maintain your TRaCclub memberships. These costs are fixed, regardless of the number of boys that participate in your program.
Many churches choose to conduct a more limited program, providing groups only for elementary-age boys, in which case only the Ranger Kids and Discovery Rangers curriculum tracks would be needed, resulting in initial costs of about $90 and about $60 per year thereafter.
